In the rest of this article, we will be looking at a detailed breakdown of the three core areas of making components usable; The three core areas being Build, Create, Use as outlined below:

  • Build:
    • We will look two types of components so we can classify all component
    • Then we look at all the components and how they are built.
    • We look at what is needed to build new components.
  • Create: Look at how to create component instances of our different component types.
  • Add: We will look at how they can be added to a layout.

In going through this process of auditing and documenting how components can be built; and then how they are used, created and added; we will see that there can be three places to create component instances; on the node edit form, in layout builder, and as a custom block. Because I this, I take time to discuss a possible better solution for this particular application's design, before wrapping thing up with a few thoughts and when you might want to use the node edit form for adding paragraph instances.

You have reach the end thus far. This article series is currently in final draft and will be published over the coming weeks. It consist of five more parts, to be notified when they are published, be sure to sign up below for the web development and design newsletter.
